A Beautiful LGBTQ+ Wedding at Waterton Park Hotel, Wakefield

Wedding Music at Waterton Park Hotel

Set in beautiful parkland on the outskirts of Wakefield, West Yorkshire - Waterton Park Hotel is a wonderful setting for a wedding. With its elegant surroundings, peaceful grounds and the character of the historic Walton Hall, it offers couples a beautiful backdrop for a wedding day that feels both special and personal.

We were delighted to provide live string quartet music for Scott and Jamie's wedding at Waterton Park Hotel – a celebration that was full of love, personality and wonderful music.

A wedding with music at its heart

For Scott and Jamie's ceremony, we played a selection of music that perfectly reflected their personalities and their love of contemporary music.

Their choices included the beautiful Wildest Dreams arrangement from Bridgerton, followed by the Glasgow Love Theme from Love Actually while they signed the register.

We particularly love weddings where couples choose music that means something to them rather than feeling that they have to follow a traditional list of wedding songs. A string quartet can bring a completely different character to familiar songs, whether that's a favourite pop song, a piece of film music or a classical favourite.

After the ceremony, we moved downstairs to continue playing for the drinks reception, providing a mixture of pop and contemporary music while Scott and Jamie celebrated with their guests.

Waterton Park Hotel – a beautiful Wakefield wedding venue

Waterton Park Hotel is particularly well suited to live music. Its elegant interiors provide a lovely setting for a string quartet during the ceremony, while the drinks reception offers another opportunity to have live music as guests mingle and celebrate.

For couples getting married at Waterton Park, a string quartet can provide music throughout different parts of the day, including:

  • Guest arrival and pre-ceremony music

  • The ceremony itself

  • Signing of the register

  • The drinks reception

  • The wedding breakfast

Live acoustic music adds atmosphere without dominating the room, making it an especially lovely choice for the relaxed social part of the day.

And because The Fern Quartet has a large and varied repertoire, your wedding music doesn't have to be exclusively classical. We play arrangements of pop, rock, film and TV music alongside more traditional string quartet repertoire.

An LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive wedding supplier

At The Fern Quartet, everyone is welcome.

We are proud to be an LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive wedding supplier, and we love providing music for couples who want their wedding day to reflect who they really are.

Whether you're two grooms, two brides, a couple who doesn't identify with traditional wedding roles, or simply want a wedding that does things your own way, we're here to help make the music part of your day feel completely personal to you.

We don't believe that wedding music should come with assumptions about who is walking down the aisle, who is waiting at the altar or what a wedding ceremony is supposed to look like.

Instead, we talk to you about your plans, your relationship and the music that means something to you.

Scott and Jamie's wedding was a lovely example of this. From their choice of Wildest Dreams to their relaxed pop-filled drinks reception, their music choices were personal to them – and that's exactly how we think it should be.

Music that feels like you

One of the things we love most about providing wedding music is helping couples find the perfect soundtrack to their day.

Our repertoire includes classical favourites, film and TV themes, pop, rock and contemporary music, including arrangements inspired by Bridgerton, Taylor Swift and many other artists.

And if there's a particular song that isn't already in our repertoire, we can include up to two special requests free of charge.

So whether you're planning a grand celebration at Waterton Park Hotel or a more intimate ceremony, we'd love to help you choose music that feels completely you.
