Amy & Steve's Wedding at The Arches, Halifax

We were delighted to provide live string quartet music for Amy and Steve's wedding at The Arches, Dean Clough in Halifax.

The Arches is a wonderfully distinctive wedding venue, with its historic industrial architecture providing a striking backdrop for a celebration. We've performed here on numerous occasions, including the venue's wedding showcases, and it is always a pleasure to return.

Amy and Steve's wedding was particularly memorable for its relaxed and wonderfully personal atmosphere. Their ceremony was filled with plenty of jokes and laughter, creating a celebration that felt completely true to them as a couple.

Wedding ceremony music at The Arches

For their ceremony, Amy and Steve chose a lovely selection of music that combined classical tradition with some much-loved popular songs.

As Steve waited for his bride, we played Pachelbel's Canon, providing a beautiful and familiar introduction to the ceremony.

For Amy's entrance, they chose God Only Knows by The Beach Boys — a wonderfully romantic choice and a great example of how couples can use music to make their wedding ceremony feel personal rather than simply following traditional wedding repertoire.

Following the ceremony, All You Need Is Love by The Beatles provided the perfect soundtrack as the newlyweds made their exit.

We then continued playing for the guests during the drinks reception and canapés.

Live string quartet music for an Arches wedding

One of the things we particularly enjoy about performing at The Arches is the way live strings complement the venue's character.

The combination of the industrial architecture and the warm acoustic sound of a string quartet creates a beautiful atmosphere for a wedding. Our music can provide an elegant backdrop without getting in the way of conversations, making it particularly well suited to drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts as well as the ceremony itself.

And, as Amy and Steve demonstrated, your wedding music doesn't have to be entirely classical.

Our repertoire includes music from The Beatles, pop and rock artists, film and television soundtracks, Bridgerton and many contemporary favourites, alongside traditional classical pieces.

We are always happy to help couples choose music that has a personal connection to them.

Located within the historic Dean Clough complex, The Arches offers something rather different from a traditional country-house wedding venue.

Its distinctive industrial setting provides a fantastic blank canvas for couples to create a wedding that reflects their own style, whether that's elegant and romantic, modern and minimalist, or something completely different.

We've been fortunate to perform at The Arches several times over the years, including its wedding showcases. Those showcases have been particularly valuable to us as we have met couples there who have subsequently booked The Fern Quartet for their own weddings.

We've also been delighted to return to The Arches for weddings themselves — including Amy and Steve's celebration and more recently the wedding of Hannah Cockroft and Nathan Maguire.
